What is a DNS?

DNS stands for “domain name system” and it’s the internet-wide phone book that tells browsers how to resolve a human-readable name (like www.google.com) to an IP address of a server (like that the browser can open a connection to.

Point your subdomain to Candidately with a CNAME record

To point a subdomain such as candidates.talentbird.ai to your Shared List, you must create a CNAME record with your DNS provider.

  1. Go to your DNS provider’s website.

  2. Go to the DNS section on your provider's website.

  3. Add one CNAME record for your Shared Lists with your desired subdomain that points to the URL that was provided to you by Candidately's support.

  4. Add another CNAME record. The name as well as the destination will also be provided to you by Candidately's support. This record is necessary to verify that you are the domain owner.

  5. Please send an email to [email protected] once you completed the steps above so that we can finish the setup.

Is the connection encrypted?

Yes, Gustav offers HTTPS on all sites, including automatic certificate creation and renewal. Our certificates use the modern TLS protocol, which has replaced the now deprecated SSL standard.

  • Content integrity: Without HTTPS, free Wi-Fi services can inject ads into your pages.

  • Security: As clients log in on your shared list, HTTPS is essential for your clients’ security and privacy.

Why does my custom link redirect me to my website?

By default when you enter your custom URL (example: talent.yourwebsite.com) into your browser it will redirect to your own website (example: yourwebsite.com).

Shared links only work when the custom URL contains a path that is automatically generated for each list. For example: https://candidates.talentbird.ai/sl/xS8cvJoSc8gi5K2L7hJwTd - without the path, the URL will redirect to your website to avoid that your clients see an error page.
